Disaster Alerts

The focus of the LPS High Risk team extends nationwide.  Our Code Specialists proactively work with code enforcement officials regarding property maintenance issues while our Disaster Recovery Specialists monitor FEMA disaster declarations and incidents of severe weather affecting client properties.  We deliver prompt electronic notification to alert our clients, offer experienced recommendations, and coordinate orders to minimize potential vulnerabilities.

Declaration Date: March 14, 2010

Incident Type: Flooding

Incident Period: February 26, 2010, and continuing

Designations and Types of Assistance:

The Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), is authorized to provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, or to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in the designated areas.  Specifically, FEMA is authorized to provide emergency protective measures (Category B), including direct Federal assistance, under the Public Assistance program at 75 percent Federal funding. 

This assistance is for the counties of Barnes, Benson, Burleigh, Cass, Dickey, Emmons, Foster, Grand Forks, LaMoure, Mercer, Nelson, Pembina, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Stutsman, Trail, and Walsh, and the Spirit Lake Reservation.
